Thomas Treloar

Dr. Thomas I. Treloar earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Maryland-College Park in 2001 with research in the area of differential geometry and dymanical systems. He taught at the University of Arizona and the University of Maryland before coming to Hillsdale College in 2004. Dr. Treloar holds the faculty rank of professor of Mathematics and is Dean of Faculty at Hillsdale College.
His current research is in the field of complex systems and data analytics, looking at questions related to game theory, disease spread models, and sports ranking methods. In addition to teaching a wide range of undergraduate mathematics courses, Dr. Treloar has developed courses that help to prepare Hillsdale graduates to teach mathematics in K-12 classical schools. He was selected as a James Leitzel Fellow through the Project NExT program of the Mathematical Association of America and was awarded the Emily Daugherty Award for Teaching Excellence at Hillsdale College.
