Sam Clausen is the upper school mathematics department chair at Atlanta Classical Academy, a K-12 charter school in the Atlanta Public Schools district. In 2017, he graduated from Hillsdale College with degrees in Mathematics and Religion, and in 2025, he completed an M.A. in Humanities with a concentration in Classical Education from the University of Dallas. He has been recognized as Atlanta Classical’s Teacher of the Year and a Hillsdale K-12 Master Teacher, and he has consulted with various schools and networks about teaching K-12 mathematics through a humane, classical approach. Perhaps his proudest achievement has been convincing his wife, Katie, to marry him last summer.
