Dr. Stephen Barr

Dr. Stephen Barr Professor Emeritus of Physics from the University of Delaware will give the talk "Science and Religion: the Myth of Conflict". Dr. Barr is a theoretical particle physicist a fellow of the American Physical Society and the founder and president of the Society of Catholic Scientists (SCS) which is supported by the John Templeton Foundation. In fundamental particle physics the Barr-Zee diagram and the Nelson-Barr mechanism both bear his name. Dr. Barr is the author of several books including "Modern Physics and Ancient Faith" and has been a regular contributor to First Things. This event is co-sponsored by the Physics Department and the Michigan-area Colleges Chapter of SCS.
