The John E.N. and Dede Howard Department of Music presents a guest artist recital.  Daniel Washington, Professor of Music at the University of Michigan, will present a recital in collaboration with Dr. Taylor Flowers of the Hillsdale College music faculty.  Renowned for his captivating performances, Washington has graced the stages of prestigious opera houses worldwide, including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Zürich Opera House, Hamburg State Opera, and Opéra Comique in Paris.  His illustrious career spans operatic roles such as Jochanaan in Salome and Porgy in Porgy and Bess, alongside performances with leading orchestras like the Berlin Philharmonic and Montreal Symphony.  A sought-after clinician and mentor, Washington is an expert on African-American classical music and spirituals, with a deep commitment to diversity in the arts.  He has garnered multiple awards for his artistry and remains a leader in vocal performance and education across the globe.
