About the Speaker
Daniel McInerny is associate professor and chair of the philosophy department at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia, where he has taught since 2019. He is also a novelist and dramatist.
His scholarly interests focus the interplay between ethics and aesthetics, with the aim of reactivating an Aristotelian understanding of art as mimesis or imitation. He is the author, most recently, of Beauty and Imitation: A Philosophical Reflection on the Arts (Word on Fire Academic, 2024). He is also the author of the novel The Good Death of Kate Montclair and the play The Actor. At Christendom College, Dr. McInerny teaches courses on the Philosophy of Art & Beauty, the Philosophy of Technology, the Philosophy of Culture, and Ethics & Imagination.
He earned a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame and PhD in philosophy from The Catholic University of America.
