Join us for a lecture with Dr. Thomas Pfau, Alice Mary Baldwin Distinguished Professor of English at Duke University, which will discuss the theological and philosophical aspects of the great Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoevsky's masterwork The Brothers Karamozov.

About the Speaker
Thomas Pfau is the Alice Mary Baldwin Professor of English, with a secondary appointment in the Divinity School, at Duke University. He has published some fifty essays on literary, philosophical, and theological subjects ranging from the 18th through the early 20th century.
He is the author of four books including Minding the Modern: Intellectual Traditions, Human Agency, and Responsible Knowledge, and Incomprehensible Certainty: Metaphysics and Hermeneutics of the Image. He is currently writing a book focused on the relationship between poetry and theology from 1800 to the present.
He holds a PhD from SUNY Buffalo and an MA from the University of California-Irvine, both in comparative literature.
