Description
This presentation will explore the history of math as it relates to the typical course of study in mathematics - arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus - with discussion on the motivations and questions that allowed wonder to birth discovery. We will travel from ancient Mesopotamia to mid-century Europe by means of Greek expansion, ancient trade routes, the conquests of Alexandar the Great, and the fall of the Roman Empire.
